Spring in Salento is an explosion of colors with a mild climate and perfect days to explore the historic palaces from the ancient splendors of Lecce and surroundings, Hypogeum olive -press, the ancient Byzantine crypts and ancient convents but also to plan naturalistic itineraries.
And if you love the sea, you can share this passion between wind and waves, discovering hidden bays and wonderful abysses, sea breezes and sunsets. Sailing, surfing and biking will fill your eyes with wonder and your heart with enthusiasm.
Do not miss the spring events, from the FAI Days, the Tables of San Giuseppe, the Easter Festival with chamber music in Lecce, the Festa “de lu Riu” (the Easter Monday of Lecce), Spring Beers, the Rally of Salento, Cocktail week in the historic center and Lecce Piano city, Lecce music week, Lecce Open Court.
In Spring, in Salento you will also find typical dishes and evocative traditions: the Easter period is full of unique customs, such as the passage through the perforated stone, the history of coremma , the ancient Grecanic songs of the Passion and the delicious Easter cuddhura : ancient rites which fuse with pagan myths of the Christianity’s era.
